Privacy Policy

Form is a coffee brewing companion that helps you log coffees and equipment, dial in recipes, rate your brews, and get tailored brewing suggestions. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version. Form stores your account and the brewing data you create so it can sync across your devices. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use third-party advertising or analytics trackers. The only time your brewing data leaves our systems is when you ask for an AI brewing recommendation.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see your plain-text password), and, optionally, your name if you choose to provide one.
Content you create
Form stores the brewing data you enter so it can be saved and synced to your account. This includes:
- Coffees you log (roaster, name, origin, process, varietal, tasting tags, and similar details)
- Equipment you add (brewers, grinders, machines, and their settings)
- Brew recipes, parameters, timers, and the results you record
- Brew ratings and tasting scores
- Your app preferences and settings
Information stored on your device
Your login session and certain preferences are stored locally on your device (using your device's secure storage and standard app storage) so you stay signed in and the app works smoothly.
What we do not collect
- We don't collect precise location, contacts, photos, or your device's microphone or camera data.
- We don't use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising networks.
- We don't embed third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and keep you signed in
- To store and sync your brewing data across your devices
- To provide AI-assisted brewing recommendations when you request them
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app, including diagnosing technical issues
- To communicate with you about your account or important service changes, if needed
4. AI brewing recommendations
When you ask Form for a recommendation, the relevant brew parameters (such as ratio, grind size, temperature, and tasting feedback) are sent to our backend, which forwards them to a third-party AI provider to generate a suggestion. We send brewing parameters needed for the recommendation — not your name or email.
Recommendations may be cached on our backend (keyed by a hash of the brew parameters) so that common requests can be served faster and improved over time. We also use a service-provider tool to record and debug recommendation requests so we can keep the feature working reliably.
5. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make Form work, and only as needed to provide the app:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and brewing data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations. Cached recommendations are stored without identifying account information and are retained to operate the feature.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: You can view and edit your coffees, equipment, brews, and profile directly in the app.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at peter@formcoffeeapp.com.
- Sign out: You can sign out at any time to remove your session from a device.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email above.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and secure storage of credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and promptly address issues we become aware of.
9. Children's privacy
Form is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. By using Form, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of Form after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
